Our journey began after years of frustration in the development and planning industry. Navigating the complexities of planning applications for development projects had always been challenging. If we could simplify planning, we could save time and money and expedite the process.

Planning Desk was established by Jamie, a Land Strategist, to resolve these planning difficulties. Jamie's partnership with Rachel, over the past 10 years, and many Planning Consultants and Architects over the last two decades has informed this innovative approach. Together they have developed and refined a planning process that continues to be updated by ongoing projects.

Previously, Jamie worked with Planning Consultants and Architects who relied on basic tools like Excel and generic project management systems, e.g. Trello, Google Drive,  to manage planning applications. This approach often resulted in a lack of timely updates, particularly about progress in the planning process and difficulty in defining accountability, especially during the Consultation Period.

We realised that all stakeholders need to be well informed at all stages of the planning process. It should be a streamlined collaborative effort. This strategy supports government proposals to increase the number of houses built in the future.
